Am I suited to group travel?
Himalayan Planet Adventures be familiar with many of our travelers have not been on a 'group trip' before. You can rest assured that our trips are flexible and allow you to do your thing within the outline of the itinerary. HPA fully recognize your needs as an individual traveler. In each trip our maximum group size is 10 - an ideal size to ensure minimum impact travel to the areas in which we operate.
How fit do I have to be for an adventure travel holiday?
All the Himalayan Planet Adventures trips are primary holidays and can be undertaken by anyone in a reasonable state of good health and physical fitness. All our trips are graded, allowing you to choose a suitable trip. We recommend that you familiarize yourself with our grading system by reading our detailed trip notes (which you can see in the each trip of trip fact) and to speak with our expert staff on the physical requirements of your trip.
What is a typical day like?
A day on trek begins with a cup of hot wake-up tea/coffee, brought to your door/tent around 6:00 am. We then join together at the dining table for a hot breakfast (about 7:00 am). After breakfast there is time to attend to any last-minute tasks and finish organizing your daypack before the day's hike begins. We usually stop at a scenic spot around noon to enjoy our lunch. The afternoon trek then continues to camp. After check in you are at leisure to explore the area or nearby ruins, photograph the sunset, read or write, talk with the staff, visit a community if there's one close by, or simply relax and enjoy the beautiful countryside and evening dinner and overnight.
What do I have to carry?
On trek all of the group equipment and most of your personal gear is carried by porters or pack animals (Yak/Horse) according to the route. Each trip member will carry in their daypack the following items: a snack, water bottle(s) or hydration system like camelback; raingear and any extra clothing you might need for the day according to weather conditions (e.g., sweatshirt, fleece jacket, ear band or hat, gloves, etc.); your camera and film; sunscreen, lip balm, sun hat, etc.; and any other personal items you want to have handy during the day's hike of 6-7 hours.
How safe is it?
On all our trips your well-being is our first priority. Our staffs constantly review every aspect of your adventure and our expert guides are fully conversant with the demands of traveling in remote regions.
Where do we stay?
To capture the essence of your journey we have wherever possible selected accommodation with local character. In the cities our hotel rooms are on a twin share basis with private facilities. In remote localities you can expect simple, clean but more basic facilities. When in the field we provide the best possible camping service complete with comfortable two person tents, a mess tent and toilet tent and if it is in teahouse you'll get twin sharing clean room with shower & toilet sharing basis.
What is the food like?
Guests continually comment that the food on trek was much better than they anticipated. We are fully aware of the healthy appetites that build up when trekking, climbing or touring and provide tasty and varied meals with plenty of fresh ingredients. Hotel/Teahouse/camping chef serves a sensible combination of local and continental dishes while at the same time ensuring high standards of hygiene. On all our trips your good health is our highest priority. We also provide for vegetarians. Please let us know if you have any special dietary requirements. Snacks, bottled drinks including mineral water and alcohol are not included in the price.
What about the altitude?
Elevations vary tremendously depending on the destination and depends on the categories of trip. Trekking is lower than 5,600 meters and climbing above than this and touring also high in Tibet. Our entire itinerary tailored based on reduce the high altitude sickness and well acclimatized taking you slowly with your body acclimatization.
What gear does HPA provide?
Each tour start from & ends at Nepal part we will provide you 4 season sleeping bag and down jacket for tour/trek/expedition period only. For the climbing we'll provide group equipments with complementary company duffel bag and T-shirt is provided by the company to each client's. If you staying at camp then we provide all the required camping equipment and although most guests prefer to bring their own. Personal clothes and climbing gear not included in the trip cost which not state in service includes.
How many staff will we have?
Depending on the destination and trip we'll provide the trip which state in service inclusive column. For the trekking in Nepal generally we provide one group leader, asst. guide for each two member and required porters as teahouse or camping basis. Climbing part has an experienced mountain guide, an expert chef, kitchen assistant (the head porter may also serve this function for smaller groups), assistant guide, head porter, and 1 porters each two participant. Tibet, Bhutan & India tour has Guide and drivers.
What is included in my trip?
It is our aim to ensure that we incorporate as many inclusions as possible in your trip to minimize any out of pocket expenses while you are away. It is important that you refer to our trips notes for the exact inclusions as Tips and personal expenses.
Are there any hidden extras or surcharges?
Owning most of our operations allows us to include all transport, most meals, accommodation and much of the equipment you will need for your adventure. Once you leave home there is little to spend. Compare our quality, inclusions and daily rates and we think you will agree our holidays represent the best value around.
How often is a trip cancelled?
As we travel in small groups 99% of our trips operate - so you can be confident of booking and going on the trip of your choice.

How can I make a booking?
While you have chosen your trip, contact our head office by mail or phone to check the availability dates, groups or any remaining question you may have. Please read properly our trip booking terms & conditions before your booking and fill up the booking form (download from our website) along with the appropriate deposit of 20 % per person in advance and payment made through the bank transfer or submit your credit card (visa/master card) details with booking form. When you choose the method of advance payment in an appropriate way, a signed and completed booking form will still be required for confirmation of booking. Bookings will only be confirmed once when we received a completed and signed booking form along with appropriate amount of payment.
The final balance for your booking will be on arrival in Kathmandu. We will invoicing you before your arrival for the final balance along with other final pre departure details as appropriate. Your final invoice will show the price based on the previous quote at the time of invoicing. Please read the trip booking term and condition.
