Nepal Trekking is probably what made this country famous to visitors for around the world. There are thousands of kilometers of trekking trails to enjoy, ranging from jungles in the south to high mountain passes with breath-taking scenery. Treks range from half a day to a month or more, depending on your interests and destinations.
The most popular trekking areas of Nepal include Everest, Annapurna, and Langtang mountain regions. These places are easily accessible and offer many different treks that vary in intensity as well as a time needed to complete. All of these treks can be accomplished by staying at “tea houses” built along the way for visitors, or you can choose the traditional camping expeditions, sleeping beneath the stars.
There are also more remote regions to trek. These are the trails less traveled that offer you a chance to go where few visitors ever venture. Some of the more exotic places include the forbidden kingdom of Mustang along with the far west of Nepal which includes the Dolpo Region known for its beautiful mountain scenery, hidden villages and incredible waterfalls.
There is also incredible scenery in eastern Nepal with treks into the region of Mt. Kanchenjunga, the third highest peak in the world and nearby Mt. Makalu. In between are the new trekking routes in Tsum Valley where you can get a real taste of Tibet of a century ago in this isolated valley only opened to the outside world since 2008. Nearby Tsum Valley is Mt. Manaslu, the 8'th highest mountain in the world.
