Nepal is known as Himalayan country which lies in the middle of border Himalayan range. We have more than 1310 mountains in the northern Himalayan range from 5500 meters/18040 feet to the top of the World Mount Everest 8848 meters / 29029 feet above the sea level. There is two parts of climbing as peak climbing and high mountain climbing. The snow capped peaks below 6500 meters which require a climbing permit known as peak.

In the contest of Nepal, below 6500 meters peak permit one is issued from Nepal Government (Which is not listed in NMA peak list) and another is issued by Nepal Mountaineering Association (NMA). There are 32 peaks listed in group A and group B by NMA. Since 1978, NMA has had an authority to issue climbing permit which listed in NMA list http://www.nepalmountaineering.org/.
