DAY 1 – Arrival in Kathmandu (The city of Temples)You arrive at Tribhuvan International Airport where you will be greeted by your representative of Himalayan Planet Adventures and taken to your Hotel. In the evening, enjoy a welcome dinner along with an orientation of your upcoming adventure in the Kathmandu Valley. (Welcome dinner and hotel accommodation included)
DAY 2 – Free day in Kathmandu Today enjoy exploring the back alleys and narrow streets of the old city of Kathmandu. There is Durbar Square with its nearly 60 temples, the royal palace and the palace of The Kumari, also known as the Living Goddess. There are colorful local markets to visit. The old city is a fascinating maze of narrow streets with lots of colors, smells, sounds and sights that will keep you snapping pictures. Be sure to watch for hidden temples. They are everywhere! DAY 3 – Bungee Jumping at Bhote KoshiWe begin our day early as we drive northward to Bhote Koshi close to the Tibetan border. Here we will see the mountains towering higher and higher as the snowcapped peaks pierce the cobalt blue skies. Our destination is the world premier bungee jumping spot where you dive off a suspension bridge, falling 500 feet into the deep canyon below. The river rages below as you quickly fall faster and faster until you reach the end of your bungee that pulls you back in the nick of time. We will spend some time around this place before returning to your hotel in the evening in Kathmandu. (Bungee jump, lunch and hotel accommodation included)
DAY 4 – Rafting on the Trisuli River & ChitwanThis mighty river west of Kathmandu cuts a deep valley from north to south in Nepal as its waters come from three different sources in Tibet. The river cuts through the heart of the Himalayas with tremendous force as its many whitewater rapids create for a spectacular ride! We will leave Kathmandu in the morning and drive to our launch point where you will board yellow rafts and go whipping down the rapids. It is a fun day, with lunch on the beach before coming to our take out point. Here, take a tourist bus to Chitwan National Park in the heart of the jungle for the night. Who take standard package will escout by local bus after rafting.(Breakfast, lunch, dinner, rafting and hotel accommodation included)
DAY 5 – Chitwan Jungle Safari Chitwan National Park is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and is home to many rare species of animals. Here is the home of the elusive Royal Bengal Tiger who stalks the jungle in all of its regency. The tiger knows he's the king of the jungle as he struts to survey his kingdom. Along the way, there are the rare Indian One-Horned Rhinoceros, plenty of variety of deer as well as rare Gharial crocodiles. You will explore the jungle on the back of an elephant as you keep a sharp lookout for the animals. In the evening, enjoy a Tharu cultural program, complete with the famed stick dance. Spend the night in your Three Star hotel. (Breakfast, lunch, dinner, jungle safari and hotel accommodation included)
DAY 6 – Drive to PokharaPokhara is one of the most beautiful cities of the Himalayas. One look at its pristine alpine scenery reflected in the beautiful blue waters of Phewa Lake and you will understand why. We return to Mugling and then pick up the road to the west where you will begin to see the snowcapped peaks of the mighty Annapurna Range. In the evening, we will stay at a Three Star Hotel in Lakeside Location of Pokhara. (Breakfast and hotel accommodation included)
DAY 7 – Paragliding and Zip-Lining We get up to enjoy a sunrise over the incredible Annapurna Mountain Range. Once we have breakfast, we head for Sarangkot, a high ridge that overlooks both the lake to the south and the Annapurna Mountains to the north. Here, we first will enjoy 30 minutes of paragliding. We ride in tandem with instructors who expertly glide the paraglide over the lake for one of the most memorable views of the mountains to the north. Once that is done, we will then take the zip line, the fastest way down the mountain. This is the world's longest zip line where speeds approach 140 km/h! Once down the mountain, we will return to our hotel where you will have free time to explore around Pokhara. (Breakfast, paragliding, zip line and hotel accommodation included)
DAY 8 – Free Day in Pokhara Pokhara is a fantastic mountain city. This place is known for its seven lakes, along with incredible views. Spend the day on your own. You can explore a Tibetan refugee camp, walk along the lake, go boating, and visit an island temple and much more. There are caves to explore, Davis Falls to visit along with great shopping in Lakeside. Be sure to visit the Buddhist Peace Pagoda on top of a high hill that affords the most memorable view of Lake Phewa, Pokhara, and the Annapurna Mountains. Whatever you want to do today, this is the day to do it. (Breakfast and hotel accommodation included)
DAY 9 – Return to Kathmandu We get up early and after breakfast take an easy bus ride in a tourist bus back to Kathmandu. For the deluxe package, we use a private car. It is about a six-hour journey past the mountains, through quaint little villages and finally ended up working our way up to the pass to enter the Kathmandu Valley. From here, we will end our journey at our Hotel and will enjoy a farewell dinner in the evening. (Breakfast and hotel accommodation included)
DAY 10 – Departure or Extend your holiday Today is the final day of the trip as you make your way toward the airport and on to your next destination. Your representative at Himalayan Planet Adventures will escort you to your airport as you make your way toward your next stop. But, you do realize that your Nepal adventure doesn't end here? You can easily extend your Nepali visa as well as your Nepal vacation, or make plans for a return trip. Be sure to talk to your representative at Himalayan Planet Adventures for options. What is the best season to do the Extreme Sporting Adventure?
This trip can be done anytime of the year, although summer is monsoon season and you can encounter seasonal rains. This trip is outstanding anytime.
What is the maximum altitude of the tour and how is the risk of Acute Mountain Sickness?
The maximum altitude during the trip is at Sarangkot Hill which sits at 1592 meters. There is no chance of getting altitude sickness.
What types of food can I expect during the tour?
Thamel in Kathmandu is the tourist area, and you can find any kind of food ranging from Nepali and Indian to Continental. There are hundreds of restaurants to choose from which offer everything from a great steak to pizza. You will have plenty of choices for food on this trip. The same is true for Pokhara. In Chitwan, you will also have a choice of foods.
What are the clothing and equipment requirements during the trip?
Normal clothing is fine. You may want a light jacket for early mornings and late evenings, but during the day it is usually warm enough to go without a jacket. Bring a raincoat or umbrella during the rainy season. Good walking shoes are always in order. For the rafting, life vest and helmet are provided free of cost. In the jungle, be sure to wear green or brown or dark colors as this won't spook the animals.
What types of accommodations can I expect during the trip?
We have categories 2 types of package tour. Standard tour that means we provide 3 star categories hotel and for deluxe package we provide 4/5-stars categories hotel in city and where stars hotel is not available we provide best hotels of town. They are pleasant, restful places to enjoy your nights. You can upgrade to even more high categories hotel for a slightly higher fee.
What happens if there is an emergency?
Your safety and health is of paramount concerns to us in case of emergencies. In Kathmandu, there are plenty of first rate hospitals and clinics should you get sick. It rarely happens, but there is no need to worry about the lack of facilities.
What is the Maximum Elevation of this Tour?
Sarangkot is the highest point on the trip at 1592 meters. The Kathmandu Valley is at 1400 meters above sea level. Pokhara is even lower in elevation and you will find sub-tropical vegetation there.
