Siklesh and Ghale Gaun Trek

Siklesh trekking is short and most popular trekking destination in Annapurna trekking trail. Sikles probably the second largest Gurung village in Nepal is located to the north-east of pokhara at about 2000m. Elevation and is well known for its well preserved Gurung culture. The major attraction of this village is traditional Gurung lifestyle, handicraft production, local cloth weaving tradition and the ancient water-driven flourmills. The flower forest of rhododendron is also one of the highlight of this region.since, the village lies in the shadow of Annapurna II and Lamjung Himal; one can observe the panoramic view of these two peaks. This place is also famous as a point from where one can observe avalanches thundering down of the mountain sides. This is one of the areas where only a few tourists can be seen. Farther continues the trek to Ghale Gaun. It is a very popular for doing the home stay trek. Taking advantage of such a unique location,

Ghalegaun- a picturesque hamlet of about 106 Gurung style houses, has recently been marketed as a new destination to experience Village tourism. Accordingly quite a number of houses have been prepared for domestic and international visitors with comfortable basic amenities. Besides the scenic extravaganza of the peaks, the warm and sincere hospitality of the Gurung people is also bound to overwhelm the visitors. Here food items such as grain, vegetable, meat, milk, eggs, are all locally produced and are indeed for any chemical fertilizers. In addition, the life-style of the village truly reflects an exotic living ethnic tradition handed down since ages.

Day 01: Arrival day in Kathmandu
Namaste & welcome to Himalayan Planet of Nepal. While you landed at the Tribhuvan intl. airport Himalayan Planet Adventures representative welcomes you with your name and assists to transfer in your hotel in Kathmandu. After time to get refreshed, bring you at head office and briefing about the program and evening we’ll pick up you for welcome dinner in one of the typical Nepalese restaurant with cultural program in the heart of Kathmandu and overnight at Hotel.

Day 02: A Guided sightseeing in Kathmandu Valley
After your breakfast to head on for our guided day trip to world heritage sites in Kathmandu valley and visit the highlights of Kathmandu and the surrounding areas. We take you to visit the pilgrimage sites of Hindus temple Pashupatinath, one of the most important shrine of Shiva temples on the subcontinent which is place of thousand of devotees, Saddhus (holy men/Baba), and can be seen the cremating body most of the times in the holy riverbank of Bagmati. Hundreds of monkeys are giggling with you and take a time to exploring surrounding area and visit Bouddhanath stupa an another pilgrimage centre which is most popular and important place for Buddhist. You can explore with rounding prayer wheel and flattering colorful flag with melodious chanting noise.  After visiting Bouddhanath stupa we’ll drive to the City of Devotees (Bhaktapur). This traditional and traffic free town is the third biggest town in the Valley. We’ll explore the medieval like squares, courtyards and temples of this vibrant town. After a stop for lunch at restaurant in Bhaktapur it’s time to drive back to Kathmandu and meet up with your travel consultant & fellows to prepare for next day and overnight at the hotel. Alternatively, the same group may have option to choose same 3 sightseeing place inside Kathmandu valley instead of these given place.

Day 03: Drive from Kathmandu to Pokhara valley
With a morning wake up guide will pick up you and transfer to the tourist bus station and drive (approximately seven hours with breaks) through the beautiful river view & Nepalese countryside to reach the Pokhara lakeside and transfer to the hotel and rest of the time explore the surrounding lakeside areas and overnight at hotel.

Day 04: Pokhara to Bijayapur by bus. Trek to Kalikasthan
We leave Pokhara early in the morning after a breakfast and drive till Kalikasthan but we recommend you to do trekking of 2 hours walking from where you will observe the massif views of Mt. Dhaulagiri, Annapurna South, Hiunchuli, Mt. Annapurna I, Machhapurchre, Gangapurna, Mt. Manaslu, Ngadi Chuli, Himal Chuli and many more mountains with Begnas Lake view from the top while walking. From Bijayapur, we climb up to Kalikasthan. In the evening, enjoy nice views of Pokhara city and Begnas Lake.

Day 05: Kalikasthan to Lamachour
After the breakfast, we trek downhill to river valley passing through the waterfalls. It takes about 4 hour walk through the village and jungle and reach the lamachour.

Day 06: Lamachour to Sikles
After the breakfast at Lamachour, climb up to Sikles through dense rhododendron forest. Sikles is the Nepal’s second largest gurung village from where you can see the Himalayan panorama and close view of Lamjung Himal, Annapurna II and Manaslu.

Day 07: Full day explore around Sikles
This day is the excursion day around the Gurung village of sikles. The major attraction of this village is traditional Gurung lifestyle, handicraft production, local cloth weaving tradition and the ancient water driven flourmills. Day 08: Sikles to Bhaisikharka
After breakfast, the journey to the next destination of the day begins. It takes about six hours trek from Sikles to Bhaisikharka.

Day 09: Bhaisikharka to Ghale Gaon
After breakfast, the trek descends down towards Ghale Goan. On the way, the trail passes through the rhododendron forest. Ghale Gaun was named as second village tourism destination after Sirubari of Syanja, we can see the panoramic view of many Himalayas, such as Bouddha Himal, Himalchuli, and Manasulu in the East, Lamjung Himal and Annapurna on the North and the peak of Machhapuchare on the west.

Day 10: Ghale Gaon to Besisahar, via Khudi
After the breakfast, treks down from Ghale Gaon to Khudi. On the way you will pass through dense jungle and Lama Gaon. We have Lunch at a local restaurant at Khudi. Again trek from Khudi to Besisahar along the bank of Marsyangdi River. Besisahar is the headquarter of Lamjung district.

Day 11: Besisahar to Kathmandu
It\'s a hot, six hour drive back to Kathmandu, so we\'ll try to head off early and stop for lunch en route back. It is a different world back in the Nepali hills, and the gentle light sends us on our way back to the bustle of Nepal\'s capital.

Day 12: Leisure at Kathmandu
This is a full day at leisure to rest and relax, to explore the local area and perhaps do a bit of last minute shopping at the heart of Kathmandu valley. You also have the option of doing some sight-seeing including Bhaktapur and Patan. Afterwards, you will have an evening farewell dinner with your crew and overnight at Hotel.

Day 13: Departure from Kathmandu
Today’s is free or last minute shopping for souvenirs or gift to your family, friends or relatives for you until your departure flight/drive or to commence any extra trips or activities you may have booked with us. If departing, you’ll be transferred to the International Airport for your departure flight to your onwards destination.

Meals and Accommodation
We will provide all meals on full board basis during the trekking period. This trek is based on Home stay basis and we will be providing meals on three times a day (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner and tea & coffee during the meal) from the Home stay lodge. The meals consist numerous traditional Nepali dishes in on home stay you can get Nepali local food Dal Bhat, bread and soup. During the stay in Kathmandu meals on breakfast basis with welcome & farewell dinner included in the price. Snacks, bottled drinks including mineral water and alcohol are not included in the price.

Trekking Group
This given trip based on group joining trip in Kathmandu and the minimum number will be 2 pax and max 10 pax based on group booking. For single also we organize the trip with single supplement (except some region most requires minimum 2 persons). Please make sure that you do have a group joining before you book the trip and we do organize the trip in large on request but small group that mean we can provide our best services during the trip. 

Physical Requirements
Siklesh to Ghale Gaun trek is easy and does not require that you have any previous trekking or mountaineering experience. It does not require any technical experience, only that you are in good physical & mentally conditioning and be able to hike for 4-6 hours over hilly terrain with a light day pack. Before the trip booking with us please consult with your Medical Doctor once and in Doctor References go for your trip booking process with us. 

Trek Leaders and Staffs
A decade experienced in the adventure tourism our incredible guides and staffs are the back bone of the company who are selecting based on highly skilled professionals with their technical proficiency, proven safety records, careful judgment, patient and supportive teaching styles and great personalities. - Our operation is smooth as a safety concern:For our trek group, there will be one Leader and one Sherpa porter for two persons and above this will be one Leader, one assistance leader and one Sherpa porter based on two persons. This ensure if in case of one get sick, it would not disturb the itinerary and fellow members, the trip still running as plan as in itinerary. And please understand that our group starts from 2 and maximum it goes up to 10 which is good team to communicate and facilitate in every manner.

- Porter Care:
In our group member each has allowed his/her gear bag weighted not exceeding than 15kgs/33 pounds that we strongly care of porters rights and solely against any exploitation on its operation and we are closely working with IPPG (International Porters Progress Group).

Acclimatization
Siklesh to Ghale Gaun trek itinerary specially tailored considering with a high degree of minimization of AMS (Acute Mountain Sickness). Normally, altitude sickness starts from 3,000 meters/9,840 feet and there is no problem below this standard. During your trip this is a best solution go slowly with body acclimatization. Consider in the higher altitude there is less oxygen in the air. Suppose, crossing high passes more than 5,000 meters/ 16,400 feet, there is 50% less oxygen than at sea level. Your body needs many days to acclimatization during the travel in high Himalaya. Climate and Weather
Nepal is a country of diversified in a topography starting from 60 meters to top of the planet 8,848 meters at the top of Mt. Everest. We have dry season from October to May and the wet season (monsoon) from June to September. For this trekking mid September to mid December is one of the best times and also March to May good to trek in Siklesh to Ghale Gaun trek. During the autumn the vegetation is lush after the rains of the monsoon and the air is clean and fresh and spring can be a little dusty but with pleasant & warm weather.  December to February is good for visibility but cold in high altitude as well as Kathmandu too. Starting the rain from June and till the mid of the September and cloudy weather badly for visibility. 

Passport and Visa Requirements
Before you traveling to Siklesh to Ghale Gaun trek please check your passport and validity date. Passports most have at least 6 months validity after finish date of your trip. We most require your copy of full passport details send by fax or scan copy is most preferable. In Nepal you will require a visa which can be obtained in advance from the Nepalese Embassy from your country or you can get on arrival at the airport in Kathmandu (Peak season you need to wait long in airport during the obtaining visa). Fees to be levied while issuing tourist visa by the Mission or entry point: 

A.    US Dollars 25 or other convertible foreign currency equivalent thereto for 15 days multiple entry visa.
B.    US Dollars 40 or other convertible foreign currency equivalent thereto for 30 days multiple entry visa.
C.    US Dollars 100 or other convertible foreign currency equivalent thereto for 90 days multiple entry visa.
D.    Notwithstanding anything written in clause (a) and (b), no visa fee shall be applicable to the passport holder of member states of the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) for 30 days.

Permits and fees
During this trip you most require to obtain the some entry permits with TIMS permit and world heritages site entry permits. All the relevant permits and entry fees are including on the given cost except personal donations & contribution. In case of any such conditions we will inform you if required any additional permit fees before you make a booking with us.

How to Book
While you have chosen your trip, contact our head office by mail or phone to check the availability dates (may visit the updated departure date page) groups or any remaining question you may have. We are happy to help and reply responsively as soon as possible. We’ll hold your booking with us before your final decision. Please read properly our trip booking terms & conditions before your booking and fill up the booking form (download from our website) along with the appropriate deposit of 20 % per person in advance and payment made through the bank transfer or submit your credit card (visa/master card) details with booking form. When you choose the method of advance payment in an appropriate way, a signed and completed booking form will still be required for confirmation of booking. Bookings will only be confirmed once when we received a completed and signed booking form along with appropriate amount of payment.  

The final balance for your booking will be on arrival in Kathmandu. We will invoicing you before your arrival for the final balance along with other final pre departure details as appropriate. Your final invoice will show the price based on the previous quote at the time of invoicing.

This Siklesh And Ghale Gaun Trek has published a fixed departure date which is start & end at Kathmandu. START DATE means your ARRIVAL DAY in Kathmandu & END DAY means DEPARTURE DAY from Kathmandu. If you want to extending your holidays before start the expedition or after this trip finished you are free to do this. These are the departure dates currently available to book online. If these publish dates are not suit your time we are happy to customize the departure dates as your suit and happy to make your date as fixed departure date. Please inform us before the trip booking.

Price:
The publish prices are per person basis joining in land but excluding international flights. This price is fixed and given you on group joining & based on twin sharing accommodation. If you prefer to single accommodation please request for single supplement with additional cost.
