These short Annapurna circuit treks offering a grand view of the 3 highest mountain ranges of Mt. Manaslu, Mt. Annapurna, and Mt. Dhaulagiri including ranges of snow-capped trekking peaks over 6,000 meters in the Himalayan range of Nepal. The track leads upstream towards the Gangapurna Lake via Pisang, Humde, etc. After conquering the Throng La pass we will see a scenic view and famed pilgrimage Muktinath temple which is a well-liked religious place in the Himalayas. Further downhill walks to the holy river to Kali Gandaki and get pleasure from with apple backyard along the trail.

 

The Annapurna trail is managed by the conservation area project of Annapurna (ACAP) which launched in 1986. The ACAP area wraps with 7629 sq km and is home to 518 birds, 40 reptiles, 105 animals, and 1226 species of blossoming plants. Trip Itinerary

  • 1 Days
    Arrival in Kathmandu

    Namaste & welcome to the land of Himalayas. While you are landed at the Tribhuvan intl. airport, Kathmandu Nepal, HPA representative greet you and transfer to your hotel in Kathmandu. After time to get refreshed, bring you at head office, and briefing about the program and evening we’ll pick up you for a fantastic welcome dinner in one of the typical Nepalese restaurants with cultural programs.

    Drive to Besisahar

    After preparing short Annapurna circuit trek, morning 9-am we drive 6 hrs by private transport to Besisahar through the scenic countryside and river view. This is an interesting drive through the foothills of the Himalaya. En-route to Pokhara, our route diverts from the town village of Dumre towards north to Besisahar. This is a small town and district headquarters of the Lamjung, where you have time to explore the surrounding area and overnight at the hotel.

    Drive to Chame village of Manang

    This morning after morning meal we pack up our luggage and start to drive Chame village. We drive by sharing jeep through the rough mountain road with a scenic view of Mt. Manaslu range, River Marshyangdi, local village, waterfalls, and beautiful natures. The drive is not easy but obviously adventures. While arriving at this beautiful mountain village with a grand view of Annapurna II we check into the hotel and explore around the area and get a taste of the local culinary.

    Trek to Pisang village

    Get up with fresh air, feel the mountain glory then 8 am take breakfast and 9 am start trek to Pisang village for 5 hrs walk. The trails lead from the other side of the river on the northern bank passes through pine woods and small villages with few ups and downs till you reach the orchard village of Bhartang for apple garden. We continue on the gradual path up to a bridge, from the bridge a short steep climb through the pine forest brings you at the top of the ridge of Dhukur Pokhari for the lunch. After walking out of the tree line a great view of Pisang peak on the north and the Chulu east peak can be seen with Pisang village below you, from this top a gentle descent of one hour brings you to windswept village of Pisang for overnight. Evening visit upper Pisang for the Tibetan style of houses and monastery with a panoramic view of the Annapurna range and valley.

    Trek to Manang village

    The trek starts with a pleasant walk through the pine forest and the scenic view. The walk climbs gently up for half an hour and reaching the top, stop at a ridge to get our first view of the Manang valley, This grand spot offers a spectacular view of the valleys, Humde village with its short air-strip and the great peaks of Gangapurna, Annapurna II, III, Tilicho and on the right Chulu east, on the back Pisang peak. The walk gently forward to Humde and pleasant walk up to the Braga village for traditionally built up Tibetans style of houses and if can be visited the monastery, it has an outstanding display of statues, thanks, and the religious manuscripts. From here it is only an hour walk to Manang for the overnight.

    Discover Manang in acclimatization day

    Today is full of rest to acclimatize and explore Manang. The village of about 500 flat-roofed houses in the picturesque set amongst some spectacular scenery - Annapurna II, Annapurna III (7,555 meters), Gangapurna (7,454 meters) to the South - Tilicho (7,132 meters) and the Grand Barrier to the West - Chulu West (6,583 meters) and Chulu East (6,059 meters) to the North. You have multiple options to explore around the areas are visiting Ice Lake, Gangapurna lake, and its glacier or visit popular Lama. You can choose one of them and consult with your guide.

    Trek to Yak Kharka Manang

    After a wonderful discover at Manang, the trail leads to a slow climb up for an hour to the Tenki Manang for enclosing view of the Annapurna, Gangapurna and Tilicho peak. Another 2 hrs track gently winds up offering inspiring views and through terrains with juniper bushes as the only surviving vegetation around this region and will brings you at Yak Kharka for the overnight.

    Trek to Throng Phedi Manang

    We start our trek with slow and own pace to get to Phedi. We still have some amazing views of mountains and landscapes. After an hour walk reaches Ledar and continues to climb along the east bank of the Jorsang Khola, then descends and crosses the stream on a wooden bridge to get a small tea shop. We stop for a wonderful view and tea breaks, we follow a narrow path across a high, unstable slope before heading to Thorong Phedi for the overnight. Phedi, which means 'foot of the hill', is a common Nepali name for any settlement at the bottom of a long climb.

    Cross Throng la Pass and Muktinath

    Throng la or Thorung La is the same name with the mountain pass of Damodar Himal in Annapurna. Today is the longest and hardest day of our whole trip. The distance between Throng Phedi to Muktinath is 15.1 km. We start our walk early in the morning with packed lunch and the trail becomes steepest initially and reaches high camp. Walk on your own pace viewing with sunrise and glimpse of the mountains. The walking duration between from Throng Phedi to Throng la is 4 hrs. While you conquer the top you will be awarded a magic view of mountains and a great feeling of victory take a short break for picturesque scenery and down to the Mustang part of mountains and the Kaligandaki valley far below to the West. Finally, we made to Muktinath after 8-9 hrs long walk and congratulations all team. Visit the Muktinath temple en-route for spiritual blessings.

    Drive from Muktinath to Pokhara

    Today, feel like a winner and start to pack up your luggage after your breakfast. We take a 195 km drive from Muktinath to Pokhara by approx 8 hrs. Cross the popular village of Kagbeni (the entry gate of Upper Mustang restricted zone), Jomsom (district headquarter of Mustang), Marpha village (famous apple garden of Nepal), Tatopani (hot spring), Beni bazaar then to Pokhara. This is amazing downstream riding as a Jeep drive in the mountains. Arrive in Pokhara, the lake city where you can explore lakeside areas and evening enjoys wonderful dinner at your choice with crews.

    Afternoon fly back to Kathmandu

    This morning you can sleep till late or go to visit boating at Phewa Lake. Have breakfast then pack up your luggage and we drop you at the airport to take another 25 minutes flight to Kathmandu. We pick up at Kathmandu and transfer to your hotel. The evening company will offer a farewell dinner and overnight.

    Today is free or last-minute shopping for souvenirs or gifts to your family, friends, or relatives before your departure or to commence any extra activities you may have booked with us. If departing, you’ll be transferred to the International Airport for your departure flight to your onwards destination.
