Annapurna Skyline Trek

The Annapurna skyline trek is one of the most famous, picturesque, classic and popular treks in Nepal. This trek leads through country inhabited by a wide diversity of peoples and topography. It offers spectacular mountain scenery from Poon hill, a famous view point in Annapurna. During this trip you can get a great mixture of culture, flora and landscapes in the subtropical low lands. On this trip we start our walk from the paddy fields to the rhododendron forest. This trek offers a short Skyline circuit route around the south of Annapurna Himalayan range, offering grand views of three highest mountain ranges from Dhaualgiri, Annapurna to Mananslu range. You trek in the midst of the rain and low alpine forest zone, and through traditional villages with constant views of the high snow capped peaks including the majestic Mt. Fishtail. This trek is ideal for all types of outdoor, family group and nature lovers.

Day 01: Arrival day in Kathmandu (1,300m/4,264 ft)
Namaste & welcome to Himalayan Planet of Nepal. While you landed at the Tribhuvan intl. airport Himalayan Planet Adventures representative welcomes you with your name and assists to transfer in your hotel in Kathmandu. After time to get refreshed, bring you at head office and briefing about the program and evening we’ll pick up you for welcome dinner in one of the typical Nepalese restaurant with cultural program in the heart of Kathmandu and overnight at Hotel.

Day 02: Sightseeing in Kathmandu Valley
After your breakfast to head on for our guided day trip to world heritage sites in Kathmandu valley and visit the highlights of Kathmandu and the surrounding areas. We take you to visit the pilgrimage sites of Hindus temple Pashupatinath, one of the most important shrine of Shiva temples on the subcontinent which is place of thousand of devotees, Saddhus (holy men/Baba), and can be seen the cremating body most of the times in the holy riverbank of Bagmati. Hundreds of monkeys are giggling with you and take a time to exploring surrounding area and visit Bouddhanath stupa an another pilgrimage centre which is most popular and important place for Buddhist. You can explore with rounding prayer wheel and flattering colorful flag with melodious chanting noise.
After visiting Bouddhanath stupa we’ll drive to the City of Devotees (Bhaktapur). This traditional and traffic free town is the third biggest town in the Valley. We’ll explore the medieval like squares, courtyards and temples of this vibrant town. After a stop for lunch at restaurant in Bhaktapur it’s time to drive back to Kathmandu and meet up with your travel consultant & fellows to prepare for next day and overnight at the hotel. Alternatively, the same group may have option to choose same 3 sightseeing place inside Kathmandu valley instead of these given place.

Day 03: Drive from Kathmandu to Pokhara valley (823m/2,700ft)
With a morning wake up guide will pick up you and transfer to the tourist bus station and drive (approximately seven hours with breaks) through the beautiful river view & Nepalese countryside to reach the Pokhara lakeside and transfer to the hotel and rest of the time explore the surrounding lakeside areas and overnight at hotel.

Day 04: Pokhara to Tikhedhunga (1,460m/4,789ft)
This morning we will drive for about 45 Km. This drive offers you the best view of Annapurna Himalayan range with terraced landscapes and villages and then descending to the Nayapul. From there our trek begins in this warm sub tropical region. The walk follows the Modi River upstream to Birethanti & follows the east bank of Bhurungdi Khola with scenery of waterfalls, high green forest and follows the picturesque trails and finally reaches to Tikhedhunga. Lunch will be eaten en route. Walking distance is four hours and we will stay overnight at Tikhedhunga village where you can enjoy the cool splash of the cascading waterfalls.

Day 05: Tikhedhunga to Ghorepani (2,772m/9,092ft)
The trail steeply ascends on the long stone steps to Ulleri village with the scenery of terrace landscape and Annapurna Himalaya. After few hours of long hard climb with several breaks in between reaching at Ulleri village, from here the path is gradual on the winding trail through the cool shade of forest, the walk continues with few short ups and downs section, Walking in the midst of the giant rhododendron forest and finally reaches you at Ghorepani after a good 5-6 hours of trek.

Day 06: Ghorepani to Pun hill (3,210m/10,529ft) to Tadapani (2,660m/8,725ft)
Today your guide will wake you early in the morning for a 40 minute hike up to Pun hill with the help of flash-light or moon light offering morning glimpse of stars and walking through the Rhododendron forest. Poonhill is named after the hill tribe Pun, inhabitants of Ghorepani and the surrounding area. It is also an advantage spot for the most panoramic scenery from the far western Himalaya of Dolpo, Mt. Dhaulagiri, and Annapurna including Mt. Machhapuchare (Fish Tail) Manaslu all the way to Ganesh Himalayan range. Nearly 600 k.m range of mountains can be viewed from this great spot with the spectacular sunrise on the mid western Himalaya range. After a great time here return to Ghorepani for breakfast and continue trek to Tadapani, the walk passes through the Rhododendron, Pine, fur & bamboo forest with few short up and downs and finally you reach Tadapani. This is a wonderful place with close views of the Annapurna and Fishtail mountains, situated in the midst of the rain and alpine mixed forest. This will takes around five hours walking up & down with a lunch break at Banthanti.

Day 07: Tadapani to Ghandruk (1,926m/6,317ft)
Today’s walk leads through the serene forest for an hour on the gradual path to Bhasi Kharka. From this spot the trail descends with occasional views of the Mt.Annapurna ranges & Machhapuchre (Fishtail).
rnThe trial descends through forest, creeks and small streams and into the maze of trails until Ghandruk village is reached. This is a semi-modern village and gateway to Annapurna Sanctuary. On reaching Ghandruk at lunch time you have enough time to explore the village and Gurung culture.We will stay here for the night stop.

Day 08: Ghandruk to Jhinu Danda – Hot Spring (1,515m/4,969ft)
This is one of the easiest treks down to the Kimrong River passing through the villages and beautiful scenery, crossing the suspension bridge half an hour up to the Jhinu danda. After refreshments and lunch visit the natural hot springs for a bath (Natural skin treatment) and relax at the riverside before returning to the hotel for your overnight stay.

Day 09: Jhinu to Tolkha (1,730m/5,675ft)
In the morning you can enjoy good scenery having breakfast. We then trek down towards the Modi River at Phedi between Landruk and New Bridge. After crossing Modi Khola (Name of stream) on a suspension bridge with a view of wild honey bee hives on the rocky cliff, from here the trail leads to a gradual climb all the way to Landruk village for lunch. From here the path leads to a gradual walk on the winding trail for an hour to a small settlement at Tolkha for the overnight stay.

Day 10: Tolkha to Dhampus (1,640m/1640/5,379ft) to Pokhara
Tolkha gives grand views of Annapurna south and Hiunchuli can be seen right from your room.
With the lovely morning at Tolkha, our journey continues on the gradual winding path towards Bhaise Kharka a small settlement at the base of the hill where from it is less than an hour climb through the beautiful rain forest to the top of the ridge at Deurali, the highest point of this trek. From here one can view Mt.Dhaulagiri, Annapurna South and Mt. Machhhapuchre.
After Deurali the trek continues down through the forest on awide path with wonderful scenery. After an hour you reach Pothana village situated in the midst of the forest with awesome views of the Annapurna and Manaslu range. After having lunch, you trek down to the village at Dhampus with its fabulous mountain scenery. From Dhampus an hour’s descent brings you to Phedi for the smooth drive to Pokhara. Upon reaching Pokhara by the Phewa Lake side and we will return to our hotel to stay overnight.

Day 11: Drive from Pokhara to Kathmandu (1,300m/4,264 ft)
Morning we’ll drive back through the scenic countryside and en route will stop for breakfast & lunch. It takes 7 hours back to Kathmandu. On arrival at Kathmandu guide will transfer to the hotel and rest of the day relax or explore the surrounding areas and overnight at hotel.

Day 12: Departure from Kathmandu
Today is free or last minute shopping for souvenirs or gift to your family, friends or relatives for you until your departure flight/drive or to commence any extra trips or activities you may have booked with us. If departing, you’ll be transferred to the International Airport for your departure flight to your onwards destination.

Meals and Accommodation
We will provide all meals on full board basis during the trekking period. This Annapurna skyline trek is based on lodge/teahouse and we will be providing meals on three times a day (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner and tea & coffee during the meal) from the lodge/teahouse menu. The meals consist of a variety of both American cuisine and numerous traditional Nepali & Chinese dishes. During the stay in Kathmandu & Pokhara meals on breakfast basis with welcome & farewell dinner included in the price. Snacks, bottled drinks including mineral water and alcohol are not included in the price.

Trekking Group
This This Annapurna skyline trek is based on group joining trip in Kathmandu. For single also we organize the trip with single supplement. Please make sure that you do have a group joining before you book the trip and we do organize the trip in large on request but small group that mean we can provide our best services during the trip.

Physical Requirements
This Annapurna skyline trek is easy and does not require that you have any previous trekking or mountaineering experience. It does not require any technical experience too; only that you are in good physical & mentally conditioning and be able to hike for 4-6 hours over hilly terrain with a light day pack. Before the trip booking with us please consult with your Medical Doctor once and in Doctor References go for your trip booking process with us. 

Trek Leaders and Staffs
A decade experienced in the adventure tourism our incredible guides and staffs are the back bone of the company who are selecting based on highly skilled professionals with their technical proficiency, proven safety records, careful judgment, patient and supportive teaching styles and great personalities. Most of our field staffs are from the local area covering from eastern to western Himalayan ranges, which support the local people directly. They have good health fitness as well as well experience with good knowledge of team leading in the Himalayan region. We also provide the training to our each staff increasing their work efficiency. - Our operation is smooth as a safety concern:For our trek group, there will be one Leader and one Sherpa porter for two persons and above this will be one Leader, one assistance leader and one Sherpa porter based on two persons. This ensure if in case of one get sick, it would not disturb the itinerary and fellow members, the trip still running as plan as in itinerary. And please understand that our group starts from 2 and maximum it goes up to 10 which is good team to communicate and facilitate in every manner.
- Porter Care:In our group member each has allowed his/her gear bag weighted not exceeding than 15kgs/33 pounds that we strongly care of porters rights and solely against any exploitation on its operation and we are closely working with IPPG (International Porters Progress Group)

This This Annapurna skyline trek itinerary specially tailored considering with a high degree of minimization of AMS (Acute Mountain Sickness). Normally, altitude sickness starts from 3,600 meters/11,808 feet and there is no problem below this standard but our trip is above this standard which have acclimatization day in Manang. Please check about high altitudes sickness by Dr. Jim Duff from Australia.

Travel Insurance
We strongly recommend the purchase of travel insurance. This comprehensive travel insurance provides coverage for trip cancellation and interruption, travel delays, loss of baggage and travel documents, baggage delay, medical expenses and helicopter emergency assistance. 

Climate and Weather
Nepal is a country of diversified in a topography starting from 60 meters to top of the planet 8,848 meters at the top of Mt. Everest. We have dry season from October to May and the wet season (monsoon) from June to September. For theThis Annapurna skyline trek mid September to December is one of the best times and also March to May good to trek in Annapurna Around. During the autumn the vegetation is lush after the rains of the monsoon and the air is clean and fresh and spring can be a little dusty but with pleasant & warm weather.  December to February is good for visibility but cold in high altitude as well as Kathmandu too. Starting the rain from June and till the mid of the September and cloudy weather badly for visibility. 

Passport and Visa Requirements
Before you traveling to This Annapurna skyline trek please check your passport and validity date. Passports most have at least 6 months validity after finish date of your trip. We most require your copy of full passport details send by fax or scan copy is most preferable. In Nepal you will require a visa which can be obtained in advance from the Nepalese Embassy from your country or you can get on arrival at the airport in Kathmandu (Peak season you need to wait long in airport during the obtaining visa).  Fees to be levied while issuing tourist visa by the Mission or entry point:  

A. US Dollars 25 or other convertible foreign currency equivalent thereto for 15 days multiple entry visa.
B. US Dollars 40 or other convertible foreign currency equivalent thereto for 30 days multiple entry visa.
C. US Dollars 100 or other convertible foreign currency equivalent thereto for 90 days multiple entry visa.
D. Notwithstanding anything written in clause (a) and (b), no visa fee shall be applicable to the passport holder of member states of the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) for 30 days. 

Annapurna Conservation Permits and fees
During this trip you most require to obtain the Annapurna conservation areas entry permits (US$ 30.00) with TIMS permit (US$ 10) and world heritages site entry permits (US$20.00). All the relevant permits and entry fees are including on the given cost except personal donations & contribution. In case of any such conditions we will inform you if required any additional permit fees before you make a booking with us.

We are happy to help and reply responsively as soon as possible. We will hold your booking with us before your final decision. Please read properly our trip booking terms & conditions before your booking and fill up the online booking form (download from our website) along with the appropriate deposit of 20 % per person in advance and payment made through the bank transfer or submit your credit card (visa/master card) details with booking form. When you choose the method of advance payment in an appropriate way, a signed and completed booking form will still be required for confirmation of booking. Bookings will only be confirmed once when we received a completed and signed booking form along with appropriate amount of payment.

The final balance for your booking will be on arrival in Kathmandu. We will invoicing you before your arrival for the final balance along with other final pre departure details as appropriate. Your final invoice will show the price based on the previous quote at the time of invoicing.

This Annapurna Skyline Trek has published a fixed departure date which is start & end at Kathmandu. START DATE means your ARRIVAL DAY in Kathmandu & END DAY means DEPARTURE DAY from Kathmandu. If you want to extending your holidays before start the expedition or after expedition finished you are free to do this. These are the departure dates currently available to book online. If these publish dates are not suit your time we are happy to customize the departure dates as your suit and happy to make your date as fixed departure date. Please inform us before the trip booking.

The publish prices are per person basis joining in land but excluding international flights. This price is fixed and given you on group joining & based on twin sharing accommodation. If you prefer to single accommodation please request for single supplement with additional cost.
