Gokyo Everest base camp trek is one of the terrific trekking around the Everest region. This trek is intended to take you around the stunning part of Everest trekking. Gokyo Everest base camp trek starting from flying to Lukla airport then trek continuing toward the Gokyo valley passing via Sherpa village and Namche Bazaar. During the walk, you will be gifted by natural beauty like White water Rivers, pine forest, Sherpa villages, and the White Mountains are supernatural parts of this trip. You are ascending day by day and only have an opportunity to get acclimatize in Namche Bazaar. After Namche, you are ascending the risky zone and we keep slowly walk up to Gokyo and exploring beautiful Gokyo valley & Gokyo Ri. We continue to Everest base camp via Cho la pass gives you a stimulating adventure and return back to Lukla via the popular Tengboche Monastery.

Trip Itinerary

  • 1 Days
    Arrival day in Kathmandu.

    Welcome to Nepal. You will extraordinary on Tribhuwan International Airport or any bus station. You will be meeting by our representatives and transfer to the hotel in Kathmandu. You may refresh yourself and in the evening you will be brought our office for an about the program. Then after you will be served special and delicious dinner in one of the traditional Nepali-restaurant and the overnight stay will be in the hotel. 

  • 2 Days
    Kathmandu City Tour.

    After having breakfast and refreshment, around 9.00 am, you will be taken to visit inside Kathmandu valley. Kathmandu has more World Heritage sites than any other city in the world. The guide will escort you on a tour of Hindus Holy temple Pashupatinath, Buddhist Stupa Bouddhanath and Bhaktapur. There is time to explore the city’s many places of interest on your own or take a rest while permits Oyu. It takes around 6-7 hrs for full-day sightseeing. 

  • 3 Days
    Fly to Luka and trekking to Phakding.

    Early morning you’ll be transferred to the domestic airport to fly to Lukla (2,800m/9,186ft). It takes 35 minutes scenic flight to Lukla airport (2,800m/9,184ft) and you will have a tea break, while the guide sort out and divide the loaded baggage to be carried by porters. A guide will manage the lunch place depending upon the time of arrival at Lukla. The trek starts with the most scenic view of  Numbur Himal & Phari. We further on to Phakding passing some Sherpa farm villages. We follow the trail to Dudhkoshi River with gradual with few ups from Thado Koshi, where you can have a lunch with superb view of Kusum-Kangaru (6,369m/20,890ft) crossing a short suspension bridge, from here after a short climb brings us to the Ghat village, another 1 ½ hr of gradual walk brings you to Phakding village for the overnight stop at lodge after 3-4 hrs walk and reminder stroll around the village for local knowledge.

  • 4 Days
    Trek to Namche Bazaar.

    From Phakding we follow the Valley of Dudh Koshi River with few short up-hill and down hills re-crossing the same river again. From Benkar village the trail continues alongside River. The part of this trail has a magnificent forest of Pine, Magnolia, and rhododendron. Then we will into Sagarmatha National Park where trekking permit will be checked for the record. Dudh Koshi River, after the bridge Jorsalle village is reached, the last village till Namche Bazaar, and again walks until last bridge over Imjatse River and final walk to Namche Bazaar. This Bazaar is the main trading center in the region and features numerous shops, hotels, and restaurants. The peaks like Kwangde, Tawache can be enjoyed on the way. 

  • 5 Days
    Acclimatization day and hiking to Everest view point.

    Acclimatization is important before proceeding higher. Today is the free day your choice to do either to rest or to stroll around. If luckily you are on Saturday then this is the market day for local peoplethe and you can enjoy the local views of shopping. You can explore Sherpa museum to learn Sherpa culture and about mountaineering or visit up to Everest viewpoint then evening dinner and preparation for tomorrow journey and overnight stay. 

  • 6 Days
    Trek to Dole Village.

    The trail leads down through rhododendron forest toward giant rock wall on the north side of the valley. After 2 hrs walk to small place Shanasa, we will continue to the left side of Mongla hill and continue down to Phortse Thanga. We will be taking lunch here. A stiff but attractive climb leads to Dole which is a small place with a few tea-house and appears the place. It will take 5 hrs walks during the whole day. 

  • 7 Days
    Trek to Machhermo village.

    From Dole we climb steadily along the side of the valley, rhododendron forest giving way to scrub juniper as altitude increases. You will cross a few tea houses, the trail ascending one hour to top hill crossing sandy spurs to reach Machharmo at 4,410m. This is the place, where it was reported that Yeti was first time seen in 1974. Machharmo has some incredible views and also it has worthy to visit the Himalayan Rescue Association (HRA) and overnight stay at the hotel.

    Trek to Gokyo Lakes and Valley.

    The trails climb the ridge of the valley excellent view of Khangtega and northern part to the Cho-Oyu. We descend to the river bank before beginning the climb of Ngazumpa Glacier. We ascend of hard cross the bridge over the stream which is flown from Gokyo Lake which is the first lake. The trail continues up to the second lake, Taujun Lake. Then finally Gyoko village appears on the edge of the third lake. Dinner and overnight stay will be in the comfortable teahouse.

    Hike to the fifth lake and see the Everest full body.

    Today is the exploring day mean free day. The view around Gokyo is itself is marvelous, for the very best panorama take a walk around Gokyo. Great view of Mt. Everest, Lhotse and Cho-Oyu with a lake view from the fifth lake is extraordinary. At the northern part, the biggest glaciers can be seen. You will eat dinner and overnight stay in a teahouse near third Lake.

    Hike to Gokyo Ri and trek to Thagnak.

    Today the trek goes to Gokyo Ri for the stunning mountain views which will make you surprised. It will take around 3 hrs to reach Gokyo Ri and you will experience an unforgettable moment and enjoy around the top. The view from the top is stunning with the west ridge and southwest face of Everest. Back to Gokyo for breakfast and trek moves again to Thaknak for the overnight stay through the second lake and walk on the longest glacier called Nazumpa glacier.

    Trek to Chola Pass and Dzongla.

    The Cho La Pass is tough to cross and should walk on the high passes. The walk climbs steadily for Cho-La Pass for few hours. After crossing pass Dzongla will be reached for the overnight stay at the teahouse. Today the total walk will be of 8 hrs so you will have to rest at night for tomorrow walk again. You can enjoy the fantastic views of both-side from the high pass.

    Trek to Gorak Shep

    The trek will continue today viewing Kalapathar and Pumori before reaching at Lobuche for lunch. The walk is gradual up until the valley at the end of the grassy field. The more walk follows the rocky moraine path and after the last rocky trail, a short downhill brings you Gorak Shep. It has some tea house. You will have dinner and overnight stay at the teahouse.

    6 Hrs Hike to Everest Base Camp.

    After having breakfast the interesting trek begins toward Everest Base Camp, foot of the world highest peak and Khumbu Icefall. The dramatic landscape around you changes as you continue to climb higher and higher. The temperature will be dropping and you will be walking among the frozen river and in an icy wilderness. Follow your lead Sherpa because you may mislead the way. It will take around 3 hrs to reach basecamp. At the Mount Everest, Base-camp stands face to face with the fabled Khumbu Ice-fall and its towering sears. Capturing the beauty of Himalayas we will be back to Gorakshep at the teahouse for an overnight stay.

    Hike to Kala Patthar and trek to Dingboche.

    Our journey begins with morning glory to Kala Pathar following steep climbing until 2 hrs. The top of Kalapathar will force you to forget every pain and physical problem. It is a small rocky peak situated in the southwest of Mt. Pumori. One can experience the marvelous landscape and intriguing the culture of the mountain region during this trek. This trek is total mountain adventure journey to the roof of the world, opportunities for outstanding photographic and many encounters of typical culture in Highland. Feeling relaxed we have to be back to Dingboche leaving Gorakshep for an overnight stay at teahouse after nearly seven hrs walk.

    Trek down to Tengboche Monastery.

    Today the walk will be easy going downhill from Dingboche to Tengboche. Crossing Dingboche the bridge, stream towards Pangboche village the destination of Tyangboche arrives. The village has huge monastery/Gompa for Buddhism. Beautiful shaped teahouse, hotel and lodges, the field with campsites will force you to enjoy the views. You will find yourself all around the Himalayas like Ama Dablam, Mt. Everest and Mt. Lhotse toward north-east and more peaks all around you.

    Trek return to Namche Bazaar Nepal.

    The trek will go down to Phungithanka where the couples of teahouses are located. The trail passes across patches of forest, up and down slopes and over log bridges. The village is set on the slopes of horseshoe shaped valley. First can be viewed after the final steep climb. It will take around 5 hrs to walk to reach Namche Bazaar for an overnight stay. 

  • 17 Days
    Trek return to Lukla Airport.

    This is the last trip of the whole tour. We will go down the long way before the bridge crossing and again walk to Phakding for lunch. The way will fascinate you and give the memory of your trip. Small villages, local Sherpa’s, mountains, greenery will attract you. Arriving at Lukla guide will confirm related things like flight ticket, stuff. You can view final look of Lukla and celebrate the last dinner with all the related member of the trip and stay overnight to the hotel.

    Fly back to kathmandu.

    Mostly the fight will be in the morning because of windy weather the afternoon. The flight schedule may change according to weather. After landing in Kathmandu guide will take you back in the hotel. It is time to have fun and rest of the time you can enjoy visiting Thamel or eating food around the areas.

  • 19 Days
    Free day at Kathmandu.

    This day makes you assure that everything is on right track means the less chance of missing flight or delaying flight. You can go through Kathmandu Valley for Shopping, watching the tradition and culture of Local Nepalese. The final dinner at the hotel and stay overnight will finish your Nepal visit. 

  • 20 Days
    Departure from Kathmandu or extend your holiday.

    Last day of Nepal visit. Gift and Nepalese item to relatives, friends, and family can be purchased. You will be getting reached to Airport for final departure. If you feel satisfied with our travel agent you can make sure for next trip and say Good Bye to Nepal.
