Trip overview

It’s like standing before the fountain of the world’s most magnificent beauty as you gaze at the snowcapped peaks of the Annapurna Mountain Range reflected in its mirror-like surface. This is Tilicho Lake, one of the highest lakes in the world, right in the very heart of the Himalayas. And you can see it on this incredible, 16-day Tilicho Lake Trek.

Tilicho Lake altitude at 4,919 meters (Tilicho height 16,138 ft.) and Tilicho Lake District is Manang. You can start either from Kathmandu or Pokhara to the Tilicho Lake trek. Tilicho Lake trek difficulty is moderate and the Tilicho Lake trek package is designed for foreigners but Tilicho lake trek cost for Nepali is available on request. The crisp mountain air nips at your nose as you stand there in total awe and amazement at its turquoise beauty. Its rich, deep color only enhances the reflection of the nearby mountains, to create the most awe-inspiring, yet tranquil scene that you could possibly imagine.

But it’s not just the lake. From this trek, you can see three of the highest peaks in the world (Mt. Dhaulagiri, 7th highest; Mt. Manaslu, 8th highest, and Annapurna I, 10th highest). These incredible massifs are one of just 14 peaks that are more than 8000 meters above sea level. They rise majestically in the skies of western Nepal, towering over the many 6,000+ meter snowcapped mountains that do the Himalayan skies.

The journey into the mighty Annapurna Mountains takes you deep into the jungles before breaking through into the alpine regions well above the tree line. You will encounter the unique cultures of a myriad of tribal people, including the Gurung, Tamang, and Magar people who will welcome you into their villages with a hot cup of tea and a smile.  There are holy sites, including the sacred temple of Muktinath. You will cross the high mountain pass of Throng La with the most incredible view of an amazing number of peaks.

All of this and more await you when you book your trip to Tilicho Lake Trek with Himalayan Planet Adventures. This is a most amazing adventure, one that will be hard to beat in the years to come. Why not plan this year to trek the Tilicho Lake Trek from Manang?
