Annapurna Base Camp Trek

Day 01: Arrival day in Kathmandu (1,300m/4,264 ft).
Our representatives will be coming to receive you to at Tribhuvan International Airport / Any bus station in Kathmandu and you will be transferring you to the hotel for staying overnight. You will be warmly greeted at the hotel. Then you will be provided additional information about the further trip and we will collect your needed documents for our official purposes. After short preliminary meeting, either stay or take rest at hotel or hang around the city at the evening to explore the local areas. It depends upon your interest and conditions. Enjoy the Nepali delicious food before the nap.

Day 02: Kathmandu city tour & trek preparation
Our tour leader will come for the pre-trip meeting at morning which includes briefing and preparation for the today’s trip after breakfast. Then you will be headed for the full day sightseeing of capital city Kathmandu which is the city of temples and the world heritage sites. Our local tour leaders will lead you to the famous and interesting place of Kathmandu valley with in World heritage sites.

Firstly, you will be taken to the Pashupatinath temple which is the most sacred of the Hindus temple in Nepal and it is dedicated for Lord Shiva. It was built in 1696 and possibly one of the biggest Hindus temples in Nepal. It is the religiously world renown temples where you will see the holy Bagmati river, hundreds of Hindu devotees. There you can see the Sadhu baba, Cremations of dead body and different religious ritual activities. After Pashupatinath you will be taken to the Boudhanath stupa. One of the world’s famous Buddhist stupa, a sight of great reincarnation to the Buddhist where you will see 100% of Buddhist monks, Nuns and big praying wheel monasteries and 100% Buddhist chanting smells. Then you will take to the Bhaktapur Durbar Square the city of culture, architecture and fine arts. That was the place of the ancient kings. You will be taken your lunch at Bhaktapur restaurant. Then, rest of the time you will be visited to explore the other places and local cultures. Stay and overnight at hotel Kathmandu.

Day 03: Drive from Kathmandu to Pokhara valley (823m/2,700ft).
Drive from Kathmandu to Pokhara. It takes about 7 hours by tourist’s bus. You can take the beautiful views of mountains and the local areas from the bus. After reaching Pokhara, you will be escorted to the hotel. Pokhara is one of the best tourist destinations in Nepal. You will feel your peace heart exposing the craziness towards the beautiful nature. Then have some rest and then take the view of beautiful lakes and magnificent views of Dhaulagiri, Manaslu and Machhapuhare along the five peaks of Annapurna. You can also explore the local places and their culture. Stay and overnight in hotel at Pokhara.

Day 04: Drive to New Bridge and trek to Tikhedhunga (1,577m/5,173 ft).
Today after breakfast, we drive to Nayapul (New Bridge) for taking about 2 hours driving by our private cars with driver to start our trek. From Nayapul we follow the south bank of the river. After several hours we pass through the sub tropical valley forests, sometimes on the carved trail on the side of the cliff. We continuing and cross the Modi Khola River via a suspension bridge to the village Tikhedhunga for the overnight. If the time allow we can trek further along the trial quite steep at times and reached at Ulleri by late afternoon for the overnight.

Day 05: Trekking from Tikhedhunga to Ghodepani (2,850m/9,350ft).
We make our ascents to the Ghodepani village. The name Ghodepani in Nepali means horse water owing to its role as an important campsite for the traders before it became a trekker’s teahouse. Ghodepani is an interesting place with small shops and stalls for selling local products and craft. The town has two parts; one is a saddle and other a few hundred feet lower. Since Ghodepani lies quite higher than a previous stop, we begin to feel chilly weather especially in the evenings. We overnight in Ghodepani with beautiful view of Annapurna & Dhaulagiri mountain range.

Day 06: Pun hill hike and trek to Tadapani (2,710m/8,891ft).
Today is a special day because we conquer the Pun hills an icon of Annapurna region. The route offers the glimpse of the pleasant rhododendron forest. This brilliant viewpoint provides us an obstructed sunrise over the high Himalayas and the wide range of panoramic scenery from the far western Himalayan of Dolpo, Mt. Dhaulagiri and Annapurna including Mt. Machhapuchre (Fishtail) and all the way to Manaslu. After a great time return back to Ghodepani for breakfast and continue trek to Tadapani for overnight.

Day 07: Trekking from Tadapani to Chhomrong village (2,210m/7,249 ft).
Today’s trial descends to Kimrong Khola (A small mountain river) through the forest of rhododendron. We then walk towards to Chhomrong crossing through the Gurjung village where we can have our lunch. Chhomrong village offers you close view of Mt Annapurna south and Hiunchuli and the virgin    peak Mount Fishtail (Machhapuchhre) along long terrace village settlement. Chhomrong is the biggest Gurung settlement of this area. We overnight in Chhomrong at tea house.

Day 08: Trekking from Chhomrong to Dovan (2,600m/8,528 ft).
After breakfast our trial decent to the Chhomrong khola and the trial lead us to the small place of Sinuwa hill. After that the trek enters to the upper Modi khola valley. After lunch we continue our trek going down to Bamboo through non habited forest area to Dovan. Dovan means a confluence of river where 2 small rivers met. We climb to Dovan crossing through silent bamboo & rhododendron forest. We reach at Dovan after 5 hrs walk and stay at teahouse.

Day 09: Trek from Dovan to Machhapuchhre Base Camp (MBC- 3,700m/12,139ft).
A trek of the narrow Modi Khola valley will bring you almost to the base of Machhapuchhre base camp. Today we climb on past the Machhapuchhre base camp which is not really a base camp since climbing the mountain is not permitted to the Annapurna base camp. This area is called an Annapurna sanctuary since it is totally surrounded by mountains. After taking lunch to Deurali trekking to Machhapuchhre base camp about 2 hour working through the magnificent Mountain View. Here you stand in the sanctuary, the 360 degree views are breath taking. Overnight stay with the closest view of Machhapuchhre along Annapurna I and Gangapurna.

Day 10: Machhapuchre Base Camp to Annapurna Base Camp (ABC- 4130m/13550ft).
After breakfast this day lead you in the heart of the sanctuary at the Annapurna base camp for overnight stay. The trial follows uphill for few hours passing a few roofless shepherds huts along the side of the moraine and this area is a windy and often snowbound. This is superb scenery of the Himalaya and can be seen rarely the amazing panoramic view of snow-capped mountains surroundings you. The remaining you have time to see, explore and relax at the base camp which feels you heaven of the Planet Earth.

Day 11: Trek from Annapurna Base Camp (ABC) to Bamboo (2,300m/7,544 ft).
Today wake up with the glimpse of sunrise over Mount Annapurna “I” and surrounding mountains and after a close up view of high mountains retrace back the journey to Bamboo for the overnight. As you know that here as well few guest house settled for the purpose of tourism services. You can take rest and relax in the evening with a good memorable view of many snow capped peaks and enjoy the dinner.

Day 12: Trek from Bamboo to Hot Spring (1,780m/5,859 ft).
Your trial goes to the Jhinu danda (Hot spring), a small top hill around. Your trial leads to the Khuldi Ghar to Sinuwa hill where your continuity treks up to the Chhomrong village and after meal we descent 2 hrs to the Jhinu for the overnight. There you can enjoy the bath to the hot pool and to visit natural hot spring as well.

Day 13: Trekking from Jhinu to Tolkha (1,730 m/5709ft)
This will be short day walk follows the river Modi most of the way reaching at Landruk village for lunch. Our trek goes gradually till we reach to Tolkha and overnight there. This may be possibilities to extends few hours walk to make another short day possibly stay at Pathana which depends on your pace and interest.

Day 14: Trekking to Phedi via Dhampus (1,640 m) & drive to Pokhara.
Our foot goes forward to the Dhampus village, a popular magnificent view of Annapurna range. You can take a full attractive view of Annapurna south, Mount Machhapuchhre. Our journey continues on the gradual winding path towards Bhaise Kharka a small settlement of the hill. After a few hours you reach to the Pathana. It is a village situated on the midst forest which carries a stunning views of Annapurna and Manaslu range. You trek down to the village of Dhampus with beautiful scenery. An after an hour the descents brings you at Phedi and drive to Pokhara. Stay and overnight at Pokhara hotel.

Day 15: Fly from Pokhara to Kathmandu.
This morning you can walk around Lakeside areas after breakfast and afternoon we depart to Pokhara airport and get a flight to Kathmandu. We will assist you in Kathmandu airport and transfer to hotel. Reminder relaxes at hotel and evening we will pick you up for farewell dinner at Thamel and overnight.

Day 16: Departure from Kathmandu.
Today is your last day at Kathmandu. It is your free morning so you can have your some shopping or explore any activities that you have missed. You have your breakfast on hotel and in your time transfer to the airport and our trips end up here. Have a wonderful memory of this trip with us and plan ahead to your onward destination.

Meals and accommodation

Meals will be provided by our company during the whole trek besides mentioned in city. We offer open and the choice menu in the tea house where you can select the food for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Our chief guide will ensure the food in hygienic and nutritious. While in Kathmandu and Pokhara different varieties of food will serving as per mentioned in daily itinerary. Snacks, bottle drinks including mineral water and alcohol are not included in price.
We provide 3 night’s twin sharing accommodation on requested categories hotel in Kathmandu, 2 night’s twin sharing accommodation on requested categories hotel in Pokhara and 10 night’s twin sharing accommodation in good available teahouse/Lodge (Single occupancy available on request with single supplement).

Trekking group

It would be easy for you if you have your own group if not also we will arrange your groups according to your request. You would be joining the group in Kathmandu. If you want to have a solo trip then we are ready to help you again with single supplement charge. We try our best to make your comfortable holiday in the beauty of Annapurna region.

Physical requirements

Annapurna base camp trek is sounds challenging but it does not that challenging and technically. Be sure that if you are mentally and physically fit for the trip because you have to walk for 4 to 6 hours every day. It would be better for you to consult your physical doctor for your fitness test before booking the trip. If you are fit then you have more energy to tolerate the difficult conditions as well as to make your trip more enjoyable.

Trekking guide and porters

Acclimatization

This Annapurna base camp trek itinerary designed using our extensive previous knowledge considering with a high degree of minimization of AMS (Acute Mountain Sickness). Generally, AMS begin above 3,600 meters/11,808 feet and there is no problem below this standard. During your base camp trip we design the itinerary with going slowly with body acclimatization.

Climate and Weather in trek

Climate in Nepal is diversified depends on season. From the low level to highest point of World it is start from hot to cold region from south to North. Nepal is for all season but the best time to visit in Annapurna region is autumn & spring. If you are in autumn the weather is perfect and sky is crystal clear but in spring the weather seem little cloudy but the full blossoming Rhododendrons are awesome. Summer is no that visible but winter getting to cold but still possible doing this trip.

Nepalese Visa Requirements

Before you traveling to Annapurna base camp trek in Nepal please check your passport and validity date. Passports most have at least 6 months validity after finish date of your trek. We most require your copy of full passport details send by fax or scan copy. In Nepal you will require a visa which can be obtained in advance from the Nepalese Embassy from your country or you can get on arrival visa at the TIA airport in Kathmandu (Peak season you need to wait long queue in airport during the obtaining visa). Cost to be levied while issuing tourist visa by the Mission or entry point:
US Dollars 25 or other convertible foreign currency equivalent thereto for 15 days multiple entry visa.
US Dollars 40 or other convertible foreign currency equivalent thereto for 30 days multiple entry visa.
US Dollars 100 or other convertible foreign currency equivalent thereto for 90 days multiple entry visa.
Notwithstanding anything written in above, no visa fee shall be applicable to the passport holder of member states of the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) for 30 days.

Trekking Permits and entry fees

While you travel Annapurna base camp you need to obtain the Annapurna conservation area entry permits (ACAP) including TIMS permit and world heritages site entry permits in Kathmandu. All the applicable permits and entry fees are including on the given cost except personal contribution and donations. In case of any situation the agency inform you if required any additional permit fees before you make a booking with us.

Trekkers health and medical information

Trekkers health is paramount important for the tour operator as we should know your health condition before making reservation with us. If you want to extending your holidays before start the expedition or after expedition finished you are free to do this. These are the departure dates currently available to book online.
