Nabaraj Thapa is the Co-founder & Managing Director of Himalayan Planet Adventures P. Ltd., which has its head office in the central tourist hub of Thamel, Kathmandu, Nepal. Driven by the slogan "young generations are the leaders of future tourism," Nabaraj began his tourism journey at a young age, immediately after completing high school. He began his career as a mountain guide in the Nepalese Himalayas, gaining invaluable hands-on experience over the course of half a decade.
His dedication and expertise led him to become an adventure travel consultant, specialising in organising trekking and expeditions for several reputable companies in Kathmandu. With extensive experience as a mountain guide, manager, and adventure specialist, Nabaraj has personally led numerous tours, treks, and expeditions across various Himalayan regions in Nepal.
Born in Gorkha, in the foothills of the Mount Manaslu region within the Western Himalayan range of Nepal, Nabaraj possesses a deep-seated connection to and respect for the Himalayas. This inherent passion fuels his work in adventure tourism.
As a co-founder, Nabaraj was instrumental in launching Himalayan Planet Adventures as a partnership adventure company. The company specialises in high-mountain expeditions and trekking across the Himalayas in Nepal, Tibet, Bhutan, and India, aiming to provide exclusive Himalayan trips to adventure travellers worldwide. He has explored each part of the mountain corner and travelled extensively internationally, including European and other Asian nations.
Beyond his significant contributions to the tourism sector, Nabaraj is also an active political leader in Nepal. He is involved in a political party and dedicated to social work, demonstrating a strong commitment to the government system and the anti-corruption campaign in Nepal. Notably, he channels all his income from Himalayan Planet Adventures towards supporting social work initiatives in the country.
