Trip Grades
This is a Leisure/Cultural Tour with a grading of Moderate due exclusively to the Day 4 hike to Tiger's Nest. The rest of the itinerary involves light walking through museums, dzongs, and paved city centers.
Physical Requirement and Health
Travelers must be capable of walking for 1 to 2 hours at a time during standard sightseeing. The hike to Tiger's Nest requires cardiovascular endurance to climb steep, uneven dirt trails for up to 5 hours round-trip at altitudes exceeding 3,000 meters. Travelers with pre-existing heart or respiratory conditions should consult a physician.
Training program
No rigorous training is required for the standard sightseeing. However, to comfortably complete the Taktsang Monastery hike, it is highly recommended to engage in cardiovascular exercises (brisk walking, jogging, or stair climbing) 3 to 4 times a week for at least a month prior to arrival.
Age Limit
There is no strict age limit for the cultural sightseeing portion of this tour. However, the hike to Tiger's Nest may not be suitable for children under 7 or elderly individuals with mobility issues. Since the Tiger's Nest hike reaches over 3,000 meters, ensure your policy covers activities up to 3,500 meters. Transportation and/or Domestic Flight
All ground transportation is provided in private, well-maintained vehicles ranging from 5-seater SUVs for solo travelers/couples to 19-seater Coaster Buses for large groups. While you may feel slight breathlessness upon arrival, severe Acute Mountain Sickness (AMS) is incredibly rare at these elevations. The itinerary is designed to keep you at these moderate altitudes for three days before attempting the 3,120m Tiger's Nest hike on Day 4, ensuring adequate acclimatization.

Stunning and breathtaking , awesome view of the Himalayas, This had been my dream to see Mt. Everest from close quarters. I believe Moutain has always inspired me to be strong , bold , and stand tall amidst crisis. The snow clad mountain ranges was looking as though someone had painted in a canvas . We had a wonderful time in Nepal. Himalayan Planet and our guide Hari were top organised from the airport pickup to the return flight.
Our adventure started with Hari and our porter via the airport Ramechhap (flights from Kathmandu are cancelled increasingly). Hari was always worried about our well-being and tour changes and wishes were accepted without discussion. The selected teahouses were quite good according to the local standard. The food served in the teahouses was always very good (we only had veggie food ).
Himalayan Planet surprised us with a direct helicopter flight from Lukla to Kathmandu after we had arrived in Lukla two days earlier than planned. We heard later that this was the last flight for two days out of Lukla due to the misty weather.
We can highly recommend Hari as a tour guide. He is funny, knows the Everest area very well and is extremely adaptable and kind.
